Role purpose
Link Market Services provides share register management services for public companies. Link Market Services also offers a range of associated services for shareholders and employees, in the form of employee share plan administration and share dealing, supported by back office functions and on-line applications.

The role will deliver services to our major clients and to Project Manage new initiatives/corporate events. The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end projects including scoping, planning, executing, and monitoring the time, cost and quality of the projects. Working in a matrix management environment delivering technical\business projects into wider strategic programmes.

Key focus must be on project delivery, client\internal communication, status reporting, risk management, service excellence and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the project team. In general, making sure projects are delivered within budget, on schedule and to agreed quality, through the use of best project management practices.

Travel between our offices in London and Beckenham will be required occasionally. As well as occasional visits to the client’s office.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities

-Management and delivery of a wide variety of client projects using agreed project management methods, ensuring they are fully completed in line with business requirements and quality expectations, on time, within budget and achieve the client\business benefits agreed.

-Management of projects/initiatives with matrix management responsibilities within an overall large programme structure.

-Produce and maintain project, resource, budget and quality plans, track risks, issues and actions to ensure project objectives are met.

-Manage/own risks, issues and dependencies effectively and play a pro-active part in problem resolution.

-Effective management and reporting of all project stages to provide structure and control throughout project life-cycle including management of entry / exit criteria for each stage.

-Provide strong leadership to project team, ensure work is progressed to meet agreed requirements and quality criteria in line with project plan.

-Communicate project progress, risks and issues to senior stakeholders.

-Ensure requirements are managed effectively throughout project life cycle using change control principals.

-When required, work closely with internal & external development teams to deliver software solutions.

-Employ implementation and release management to ensure smooth transition to live operation and handover to business and IT operational teams.

-Provide support to end users so that the success of a project can be effectively measured after its implementation into live operation and track the project objectives and benefits are being realised.

-Manage relationships and ensure effective communication between project participants and maintain good working relationships with client and all delivery teams and project stakeholders including internal delivery teams, external suppliers, test teams, operational teams and external clients.

Necessary Experience:

-Proven full project life cycle experience in financial services.

-Minimum of 5 years in a project management role or senior management based role with project leadership responsibility.

-Good knowledge of MS Project.

-Numerate and good data handling and analysis capability

-Proven client management experience.

-Ability to build strong internal\external client relationships.

-Experience/qualification in formal project management methodology for example Prince 2/APMP.

-Good understanding of project management principles – planning, tracking, risk management, issue management reporting, change control using Microsoft Project.

-Delivery of business & IT related projects.

-Working to tight deadlines.

-Leadership and motivation of multi-discipline project teams.

-Able to delegate effectively and negotiate time scales with shared delivery teams.

-Strong analytical and problem solving capability.

-Logical and methodical approach to delivery of solutions.

Desirable Experience

-Experience Financial Services, Share Registration, and Share Plans industry.

-Working within a regulated environment and dealing with legal, compliance, IT, operations, client services and marketing.

-Financial services and Client facing experience.

-Experience of producing or supporting the production of business cases.

-Investment/Securities/Registration experience.

-Experience of workshop facilitation.

-Experience of formal requirements management process.

-Experience of managing external suppliers.

-Ms Access capability
