Your new SEMH school in the Knowsley are currently looking to recruit for a rewarding SEND Teaching Assistant job starting immediately. The school need an SEND Teaching Assistant to help increase the maximum learning potential of each and every child they work with. In a supportive environment, the school aims to provide an excellent education to students aged 5 - 13 years with SEND requirements such as those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues as well as attachment issues and ADHD.

Your new role

Your role as a SEMH Teaching Assistant will require you to work alongside the school's teachers to support and deliver learning activities, facilitate effective learning and promote a happy school environment. The challenges you will face day to day mean you must be a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and the desire to have a positive impact on building good relationships with staff and students.

What you'll need to succeed

You must have recent and relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant either in a voluntary or paid capacity with SEND students. You must also have a passion for working with SEND students and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You must also be aware of the key competencies that are expected to go along with working with children with SEND and challenging behaviours.
