A leading Aerospace Technology and Manufacturing company are seeking a Financial Accountant. This will be an initial 3 month contract with the likely hood of extension

This is a key position in the site finance team responsible for managing general ledger management accounting, divisional reporting, financial controls testing and statutory returns

Job Specification

•Responsible for preparation of the statutory accounts including all disclosure notes
•Responsible for completion of Tax packs and associated reporting
•Responsible for integrity of SAP financial ledgers including (but not limited to) sales and margin, accounts receivable, accounts payable, GRNI, accruals and prepayments, warranty provisions and fixed assets
•Responsible for managing relationship and correspondence with shared services to ensure timely resolution of queries
•Responsible for elements of corporate reporting and forecasting in Hyperion, being the primary person responsible for cash forecasting and weekly cash reporting
•Responsible for submission of capital expenditure requests, partnering the business in putting business cases forward. Also responsible for the timely reporting of Fixed Asset projects and appropriate additions and disposals accounting
•Preparation of monthly journals and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
•Responsible for intercompany balances and timely reconciliations during month end
•Maintain clean audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Ownership of the eSox annual cycle including gap assessment, controls testing and closure of identified control weaknesses
•Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures in line with US GAAP
•Business partner members of the Site Leadership team to ensure strong financial controls and oversight over cost centre reporting
•Support continuous improvement and ACE deployment through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities. Proactively seek to identify opportunities for improvement and act as the Finance representative on ACE & continuous improvement activities.
•Responsible for VAT/EC sales/National statistics reporting

Basic Qualifications and Skills Required

•Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA)
•Flexible team member with commitment to the success of the function and organisation
•Experience of SAP and Hyperian Financial Management systems
•Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel skills
•Experience in a manufacturing environment desirable but not essential
•Experience of controls testing (Sox experience preferable)
•Experience in budgeting, reporting and also cash forecasting
•Ability to make timely and effective decisions
