Role: Engineering Technician Location:HP2 7DF,Hemel Hempstead Salary: £25,000 depending on experience plus additional benefits FFEI Limited,a leading integrator and manufacturer of digital inkjet and life science technology,is currently looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join their team. Working alongside manufacturing and R&D engineers, the Engineering Technician will provide an in house cable and wiring design, build and integration capability as well as all the required technical support to enable the workshop to function effectively whilst producing and adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines. The Engineering Technician uses general engineering, math and science skills to assist engineering staff across the business to create products, improving manufacturing methods, maintaining assembly systems and provide general engineering effort as required. Whilst it is expected to have an electrical bias you must also possess a sound mechanical capability. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager,the Engineering Technician will be responsible for: Produces cables, wiring harnesses and wiring looms for development projects and manufacturing as required Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment using CAD/CAE tools. Assists engineers with the build, integration and test of sub-systems, rigs and fixtures, including the writing of test specifications and the collation of test results. May help resolve technical issues with assistance of more senior engineering staff. Prepares associated design specifications and other engineering documentation. Develops, tests and make modifications to electrical and mechanical equipment where required Maintains the workshop with regard to health and safety, fire, risk assessments and COSHH risk assessments. Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards. Plans own tasks and reports progress against the plans. Seeks guidance on unplanned work or problems which affect progress. Continuously develops own skill and knowledge within any specialist discipline, especially related to electrical and mechanical techniques. Applies electrical theory and electrician related knowledge to design, test, debug and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical circuitry. PAT testing electrical equipment as required. Provides general and logistical support for equipment installation and movements as required Requirements for the role of Engineering Technician: Engineering experience in a similar role within high technology, high value manufacturing operation Understanding of the fields of design engineering, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering A minimum of BTEC or ONC in an electrical engineering discipline CAD/CAE skills are highly desirable(preferably SolidWorkselectrical) Ability to work in a cross functional team and/or unsupervised is vital Experience of technical problem solving within a complex/dynamic environment Able to prepare and present concise, accurate, well presented documents with excellent attention to detail An analytical mind with the ability to problem solve in a logical way In return you will receive a salary of £25,000 depending on experience, 23 days annual leave plus public holidays, option to join pension salary sacrifice scheme,discretionary employee bonus scheme, private healthcare scheme, Childcare vouchers, eye tests and free car and cycle parking among other benefits. * To be considered for the role of Engineering Technician click APPLY below* FFEI is a leading integrator and manufacturer of industrial digital inkjet systems and digital life science technology.
