Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

I’m supporting a leading waste, energy & recycling client who operate the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and treating nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste and recyclables and ultimately generating enough electricity to power for more than 80,000 homes every year.

We are looking for experienced personnel, who hold substantial experience with an Electrical and Instrument Engineering background to join a dynamic and innovative team of electrical experts.

Role Overview:

To carry out the repairs and installation work on all electrical equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

Main Duties:

* You will be responsible for the maintenance and to a degree the installation of all electrical and instrumentation equipment within the Energy from Waste operation. Also for planned preventative maintenance and the prevention of breakdowns.
* You will be diagnosing faults and ensuring that effective repair and improvement work take place without supervision and within reasonable timescales.

Specific Requirements:

The nature of the job is such that many plant failures necessitate immediate action and this may require working outside normal working hours on occasion.

Technicians will have to work in confined spaces and carry out work at height. Ideally you will have done this work before in a heavy process industry and have experience of:

* PLC controlled equipment (ideally Allen Bradley)
* High / low voltage equipment
* Instrumentation

About You:

* Must have a high level of determination to complete tasks.
* Take a high level of interest in tasks assigned, with ownership and accountability for the tasks.
* The ability to work with others.
* Have a logical approach to fault finding.
* Personal circumstances must permit availability for response to being “called in” outside of normal working hours.
* Must be aware of and adhere to safe working practices.
* All applicants should have an NVQ level 3 or Trade certificate and to be able to demonstrate a logical and systematic approach to fault-finding
