Our client a leading service provider based in Bristol, require an outstanding and inspiring Finance Director. This is an exciting opportunity to move an already successful company forward.

You will ensure the business is effectively managed from a financial perspective, contributing towards the strategic direction and general management of the business.Ensure the decisions made by the business are financially-informed and consistent with the financial targets of the major shareholder.

Key Responsibilities

·Ensure there is a strong framework of internal control within the business ensuring it is complaint with the company and statutory reporting, taxation and legal requirements.

·Provide financial and performance information to internal stakeholders, the Board and shareholders.

·Form a close working relationship with the Managing Direct and provide “balance”.

·Provide financial leadership to the board of directors and contribute from a financial perspective to the tactical direction of the business.

·Interpret and communicate business issues highlighted by the management information and ensure that the necessary actions are taken.

·Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.

·Provide all relevant management inputs to optimise working capital and meet budgetary or forecast targets.

·Ensure the finance controllers/managers develop and manage the finance department in line with company polices and procedures.Ensure that they prepare and review budgets and forecasts and produce management information.

·Management and development of direct reports, including recruitment, objective setting, appraisal, performance management and staff development.

·High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.Knowledge of management systems for all accounting functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger and stock.

Experience required

·Able to demonstrate experience of leadership with previous or relevant experience within a senior level position.

·Able to demonstrate experience of working within a service provider or waste management company.

·Qualified member or an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification

·Public sector experience desirable.
