A leading International London based ICT Solutions provider to the oil and gas sector is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its expanding team.


The company was formed in February 2000 to provide communications and IT integration services to the small / medium oil and gas sector. Today, the company has evolved into having clients in over 10 countries, with an installed user base over 250. The role will be based from the London office with frequent visits to client sites situated in and around London.

As the Technical Support Engineer, your duties will be to:

- Develop and maintain tools and processes used to assist the operation, deployment and management of the clients’ platforms.
- Monitor and manage the clients’ platforms (health, system and application security, performance and metrics).
- Address any system, application or network failures or issues, including issues outside normal business hours.
- Work with management and clients to assist planning, implementation, documentation, management, troubleshooting and incremental improvement of processes.
- Perform testing on new technologies, reporting back to management on their strengths and weaknesses.
- Manage and track assets.
- Perform upgrades, configuration maintenance and repairs of system hardware.
- Manage own workload and remain accountable, promoting a positive team approach under pressure.


To be a successful Technical Support Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:


- Must have first-hand technical experience of solving problems in the areas of systems and application performance.
- Flexible and willing to accommodate out of hours work when required.
- Experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role.
- Microsoft Server (2012, 2016) and Software Administration.
- Active Directory Administration.
- Firewall and Networking Exposure.
- Office 365 and Azure knowledge.
- Knowledge of Citrix Xen environments.
- VMWare and Microsoft Certifications desirable.


Normal working hours of this Engineer role are between 9am and 5:30pm although flexibility is required and expected.

In return the Technical Support Engineer will receive a salary of £26,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience plus 25 days annual leave.
