Can we tempt you into our architectural world?
Specsavers is a truly talented organisation and the world's largest optical retailer. We have over 1,800 businesses operating globally, with over 700 stores in the UK, boasting over 17,000 staff worldwide and over 2,000 support staff globally. We are a revolutionary, dynamic, family run business, continuing to go from strength to strength and proud of it.
The world of IT is ever changing, new technologies evolve so change is inevitable but one thing that always remains is working together to achieve the same goal. Our IT function takes on every challenge to deliver the best results with passion and enthusiasm. The environment may be fast paced but the interesting and exciting projects make it a driven and fun place to be.
The real question is whether we can tempt you by giving you responsibility to translate our requirements into solutions design aligned to our architecture roadmap. The best bit is working on projects across all business areas and where we are transforming the majority of our applications on a global scale, making this a challenging but reward environment. It's not just about selecting the right solution but understanding how this can be utilised globally, working through those implications with a different set of users.
You will be fully involved in leading the delivery of the project with the right IT solution. You can break down complex problems into simple components and address enterprise business, application, data and integration architecture challenges. The way you work and communicate with your stakeholders will create energy and drive and you understand the bigger picture without losing sight of the detail.
If we have tempted you this far, we want a little in return. We would be looking for proficient experience in solution architecture within a global setting. You will have lead projects within the infrastructure, data, application, business and integration architecture with experience of implementing bespoke packages. You can demonstrate how you use your enthusiasm to build relationships with your stakeholders and suppliers that help you deliver success. Experience of Cloud based Solution Architecture is a must and any experience of Big Data (MapR or Hadoop) would also be extremely beneficial but not essential.
The role will be based at Whiteley in Fareham with excellent opportunities and a benefits package that includes, car allowance, personal performance bonus, profit share, private healthcare, private dental cover, permanent health insurance, life assurance, pension.
