To support the operational capabilities of Bournemouth Airport and it’s facilities and services, through the delivery of reactive and preventative maintenance in accordance with BIAL Values, external regulatory requirements and all relevant policies and procedures.
Principal AccountabilitiesOperational EfficiencyThe Engineering Technician will be a fully qualified, building maintenance technician, having a broad range of knowledge and skills, capable of carrying out a multi-skilled role within the engineering team at Bournemouth Airport in support of airport operations.Working as part of a multi-skilled team, the Engineering Technician will work on a broad range of engineering systems as directed by the Asset Manager. The post-holder will be required to carry out installation, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical maintenance, plumbing and drainage, painting, ground works, building repairs and other general maintenance tasks as required.
Bournemouth Airport operations are based on multi-skilling. In addition to the post-holders principal duties as part of the Engineering Team, he/she will support all and any operational activity, including assisting other departments as directed by the Line Manager and/or Supervisor, as circumstances require.
The Engineering Technician will be required to perform call-out duties as part of the engineering call-out rota.
The Engineering Technician will hold a full UK driving license and be able to safely and competently operate a broad range of vehicles, equipment, tools and machinery in support of operational efficiency. The post-holder will be required to obtain a full airside driving pass within six months of taking up the role. Full training will be provided including airside driving and the use of a radio.
Duties and tasks will be carried out safely and appropriately within the capabilities of the Engineering Technician’s individual skills, knowledge and experience.

The Engineering Technician will assist the Asset Manager in achieving the highest levels of the cost-effectiveness of the engineering department in all its activities.
