The role of Unified Communications Support Engineer

They are seeking an enthusiastic pro-active experienced Sustaining Support Engineer to join their global engineering sustaining team for Unified Communications based in their UK office near Swindon. You will be passionate about the customer's experience; triaging and identifying root cause of technical product issues in cooperation with other departments, bringing well-judged conclusions to Design Engineering and Product Management.

  • Responsibilities of Unified Communications Support Engineer will include:

  • Working as the interface to global design organisation on escalated technical field issues from front-line customer support organisation.
  • Replicating customer issues with product solutions [hardware, software or firmware related] and triaging those issues to root cause level.
  • Use of analysers, electrical and acoustic test equipment to aid in the capture and resolution of issues.
  • Work with worldwide based teams to champion resolutions of escalated issues and support process enhancements across functional teams including Development, Quality, Product Management.
  • Be customer facing to some key partners and accounts to provide technical input.
  • Unified Communications Support Engineer requirements

  • 3+ years in-depth technical (tier 3+) support or direct design experience to telecom products (unified communications)
  • Experience of using engineering test tools or protocol analysers
  • Experience of electronics to a system design level.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills especially with complex Hardware, Firmware or Software interaction problems.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple tasks.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • Able to travel, including internationally (<20%)
  • Support Engineer nice to have

  • Industry experience related to telecommunications and/or audio products
  • Previous experience of supporting USB peripheral devices or Bluetooth devices or DECT devices.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing architecture platforms and services or networking.
  • Project management experience.
