The Education Departmentare looking to appoint 3experienced early years teachers to support the expansion of early learning andchildcare as part of the East Lothian 1140 implementation plan. Thesuccessful candidateswill support specific schools within East Lothian, focussing on all early years provision in that area.

These postsare funded through Scottish Government for 2 years. Following this 2 year period the posts will be reviewed and thepost-holders may be expected to move to other school-based posts.

Please Note:
Teachers who join East Lothian Council during the school session will only be entitled to a pro-rata salary and annual leave entitlement until the end of the session. A calculation will be carried out upon commencement and pay will be adjusted in the first available pay period to ensure they are paid correctly. It may be necessary to make adjustments over several months andin these instances employees will be advised in writing.Should you require clarification please contact Payroll on01620 827781.

Job Details

To advise and support staff across all early learning and childcare settings to improve the quality of children's experiences and ensure improved outcomes. To provide regular support during term time to early Learning and Childcare (ELCC) settings including working with children and acting as a role model for staff.

Appropriate primary qualification
For Permanent Posts: Full GTCS Registration is required.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
