Principal Engineer - Tier 1 - Top Ten - Main Contractor - PRS Scheme - Manchester
Chance to Join as a Principal Engineer to join the North West region, they have a proven track record of delivering projects more than £50m. The successful candidate will report to a Projects Manager or Projects Director.
The project details include:
Slip-forming of reinforced concrete cores
High-rise steel frame
50 Million Value
High quality unitised curtain walling installation
High specification multi-core destination-controlled lifts
Project is sited on a highly constrained city centre site and a strong focus on planning and logistics will be required
Responsibilities of the Principal Engineer include:
You will be entirely responsible for the technical competency of a project. A senior member of the project team, reporting to the Project Manager, responsible for overseeing the timely execution of operations in both the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.
Occasionally acting as Project Manager, inline with company needs.
The role requires a strong leader who can manage a team of engineers and works staff to deliver the project. You will manage several high levels of interfaces between internal departments and external, such as Architects, Engineers, Construction Workers, Sub-contractors, Client agents, Clerk of Works and Site Staff.
About You:
Degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or related field
Relevant Construction Skills Certificate Card
Minimum 6-8 years' work experience within the construction industry
Proven working experience in the management of construction activities
Must be able to demonstrate a technical, engineering background
Takes responsibility for technical delivery of the project
Ideally Section Engineer, Senior Engineer progression for Main Contractors
Knowledge and understanding of forms of contract, (e.g: NEC3, JCT D&B)
Familiarity with construction software packages
Ability to plan and see the bigger picture
Takes responsibility for technical delivery of the project
Degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or related field
Salary and Benefits:
Base - 50-60K
