Looking for an exciting challenge within engineering that offers development opportunities and an excellent package? Our client is a well-known, international food manufacturing business based in Cambridgeshire. With low staff turnover, this is a rare opportunity to join a successful and established business. They are now looking for someone to lead a team of maintenance engineers to keep the factory running within agreed budgets. The role offers a salary up to £44,000, along with healthcare and an enhanced pension scheme.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you will lead and manage your team to provide a 24/7 maintenance function, maximising operational efficiency throughout the factory. Working alongside planners and operational managers, you will help to reduce down time by making sure the right equipment is available and in good working order as well as responding to breakdowns.

You will manage the performance of your team through regular reviews and ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain an effective service. Ensuring the competence of your team through training and development, while promoting working behaviours that will ensure safety standards are met at all times.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, experience of supervising maintenance activities and leading a team to deliver results. Experience of working in the food production industry would be beneficial as the role will require working to and promoting food safety standards. However, candidates from other industries will also be considered. Being familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, you will support the team to proactively make improvements to processes and machinery to help increase overall efficiency.

As a 24/7 operation, flexibility of shifts and the ability to respond to urgent situations outside normal working hours is vital for this role.
