A new and exciting opportunity for a retail warehouse assistant to join a vibrant, well established charitable organisation in Sheffield. This is a new position, where you will support the retail operations with day to day organisation of the store and retail chain.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the organisations van drivers with furniture collections and deliveries as a van drivers mate
• Moving stock by manual operation of cages and wheel sets
• Identifying poor quality donations for recycling
• Sorting and processing donated goods, this is mainly grading stock in order of quality
• Identifying more unique items and passing them to our e-commerce team
• To support the overall core non-furniture business as and when required
• To ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times
• Where required support your line manager in facilitating the required Gift Aid conversion rates on all donations
• Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Ensure that goods are displayed in an organised and safe manner
• Ensure that all statutory responsibilities are met, including Fire and Health & Safety Regulations
• Where necessary support with external and internal floor walks to maintain safety, and report any faults to Line Manager
• Help coordinate the ethical disposal of waste materials
• To ensure that stock/ sorting areas are efficiently and safely organised
• To ensure that the warehouse is not storing prohibited items
• Accept and sort stock, in accordance with the organisations guidelines
• Organise stock of new goods and stationery for storage and distribution with advice from your Line Manager
• Sorting and packing deliveries and assisting in conjunction with the organisations van drivers
• Demonstrate the companies key values: Compassionate, Dignified, Inspired and Pioneering

Please be aware the role is physically demanding and will require manual handling, which includes moving customer donations and furniture items.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a warehouse environment and be able to work in an effective team with people from a variety of background.

Flexibility is essential for this role as there will be weekend and possibly evening work required on occasions.

12 month contract- 37.5 hours per week, flexible working 5 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday. Salary £15307 per annum.
