Maintenance Fitter

Opportunities still exist to be part of an exciting expansion programme to the maintenance team of leading brand manufacturer within it's industry. The role as a Mechanically biased maintenance Engineer / Fitter will be based around the Reading area.

THE ROLE

- Your key responsibilities will be to provide mechanical support to ensure performance of all production and plant machinery.
You will be involved in the upkeep of various systems and equipment on site including daily tasks such as:-
- changing belts, bearings, gear boxes, motors, fabrication, welding, hydraulics and much more.
- Carrying out day to day maintenance, strip down, rebuilds, planned preventative maintenance on automated machinery.
- Ensure all automated production equipment is running efficiently and safely through both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
- Optimise machinery availability to meet all operational demands


THE CANDIDATE:

The suitable mechanical engineer will have completed an Apprenticeship/HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical Engineering.
- You will posses a high standard of mechanical knowledge back by reasonable electrical skills.
- Your experience can be gained from any automated manufacturing background but heavy industry experience would be a benefit.
