Our client is creating a new role for someone with excellent HVAC technical knowledge. The ideal person may have been a project manager, an engineer or even a facilities manager for a large organisation. The key is that they are knowledgeable on heating and air conditioning systems in particular, and have the skills to convey that knowledge both in person and in written reports.

The successful candidate will work with our team and with potential customers to identify and develop opportunities to work together. Strong relationship building and communication skills are therefore essential, along with a background that demonstrates a high degree of commercial awareness.

HVAC Sales Engineer Duties
•Identify suitable credit-worthy leads and prospects by using trade listings, internet intelligence and databases;
•Investigate suitable new leads and opportunities through networking with Servicing and Installations staff;
•Assess potential customers’ heating, ventilation, air conditioning and water systems, identifying faults, risks and areas for improvements;
•Compile quotes and reports, communicating their contents effectively to customers;
•Follow an acceptable sales practice recording approach, utilising the company’s internal Customer Records Management system;
•Attend sales meetings and deliver updates on progress of leads and meetings;
•Prepare data and reports on a regular basis illustrating progress;
•Receive customer enquiries and orders, and progress as appropriate.

HVAC Sales Engineer Desirable skills
•High level of technical knowledge, developed through practical experience in the industry;
•Ability to recognise equipment and discuss its function and usage with customers;
•Enthusiastic, outgoing and conversational attitude to work, including confidence on the phone, via email and in person;
•Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to listen to potential customers’ issues and deliver an appropriate solution;
•Initiative and determination to meet challenging monthly targets and drive a new product independently.
