The Opportunity

100k 1st year OTE

A leading consultancy firm are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to manage a team of circa 10 direct reports. The direct reports are all field based experienced sales people. The company represents a wide international market network around the world. In the UK, our specific expertise is in the optimisation of Research and Development (R&D) Tax Relief and Credits, R&D grants, Patent Box and HR/support.

Function of the Sales Manager role:

The role is an all-encompassing management role, requiring you to motivate, train and ultimately ensure target performance. Reporting into the UK Sales Director, and working alongside four other Sales Managers within the R&D Tax credit area, this person will lead and manage the Business Development Executives. It is estimated that you will spend 50% of your time in the London office and the other 50% of your time in the field with your team (UK wide).

Main Responsibilities of the Sales Manager

• Responsible for growing and managing your business development
executive team (circa a team of 10)

• This role sees you manage purely new business

• Establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales
targets; projecting expected sales volume and profit

• Shadowing and helping in training of team members, requires extensive
national travel

• Working with HR, recruitment and the Sales Director to hire and manage
your team

• Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending regular
industry events and meetings; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Desired experience and skills of the Sales Manager:

• Previous significant management experience of a field sales team is

• Extensive new business experience is essential

• Proven track record within new business sales is essential

• Previous experience in selling a complex product within a professional
services industry is essential

• Large and or National account experience is desirable
