The Merchandise Planner:
The Junior Merchandise Planner must be a self-starter, with high levels of energy, enthusiasm and flexibility to adapt to the constantly changing needs of the developing Ocado General Merchandise business. The ability to work unsupervised, and communicate effectively within a wider team, both internal and external to the Ocado business are also essential. The successful applicant will be highly numerate, with a preferred background in demand forecasting, inbound volume planning, general merchandise trading, and/or logistics management. The successful applicant will also have an eye for detail, be highly organised and able to manage and prioritise a busy workload.

The GM Merchandise Planner role forms an integral part of our trading “pods”, alongside our Buying and Web trading teams. The pod is jointly responsible for our two primary trading KPIs – average transaction value and trading margin. The forecasts, stock management and clearance activities performed by the Merchandise Planner are likely to be determining factors for these two KPIs.
