Quality Control technician QC - Leicester - Manufacturing - Food

Quality Control technician is a self-motivated individual and a team player willing to go the extra mile for colleagues and the business.

As part of the QC team you will ensure:-

a) QC checks completed, recorded, and actioned in a timely manner, records are accurate and comply with customer specifications.

b) Reporting of non-conformances and execution of agreed corrective / preventative actions.

c) Sampling, testing, and maintenance of QC archive.

d) Internal audit traceability and interface with external audits as appropriate.

e) KPI: Health and Safety / complaint reduction / Good attendance record

f) Other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

* Assess the compliance of finished products against agreed specifications.
* Maintain and update product test requirements in line with approved changes to finished product specifications.
* Liaise with Quality Manager, Production, and Engineering regarding decisions on outside specification results.
* Assist with the investigation and reporting of customer complaints.
* Retrieve retain samples as required for product queries / product analysis.
* Liaise with production department and warehouse to ensure non-conforming products quarantined in a timely manner.
* Ensure all records completed accurately and update as needed controlled documentation.
* Provide cover within the quality department for holidays/absence and during periods of high workload.
* Reporting of non-conformances and execution of agreed corrective / preventative actions.

* Internal audit traceability and interface with external audits as appropriate

Any other duties as may be required to fulfil the needs of the position.

Skills:

* Previous QC / QA experience.
* Good level of education e.g. A/S level and above
* Good oral and written communication.
* Good organisational skills.
* Excellent and reliable timekeeper.
* Confident and assured.
* Basic Food Hygiene trained
* Good computer skills, Excel, MS Office etc.
* Capable of working independently and under pressure.
* Driven, and ability to get things done.
* Team player.
* HACCP knowledge
* Experience in similar FMCG food industry.
* Basic food safety.
* Experience of external audit inspections: BRC / PIU / ISO etc.
* COSHH training
