THE COMPANY

You will be joining one of the UK’s Construction Groups. The business is split into four distinct divisions, Infrastructure, Construction, Housebuilding and Partnerships, covering a range of specialist work across all sectors. The company is forever growing and after completing several Flagship Projects, they can now boast an annual turnover of £2.8 Billion. Being employee focussed, the business is very keen to develop and promote internally by fully supporting its staff with training and further education.

ABOUT THE JOB

The company has secured a package valued at £10 million, due to start in May 2018. The schem is a new road and bridge construction project in Walton on Trent, near Burton. Joining as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting into the Commerical Manager, but you will have responsibility for the day to day commercial activites on a single large project or a number of smaller schemes. The role is supported by administrative staff. Key responsibilites include liaising with Head Office Estimating, Buying and Production staff together with ensuring accurate site records are reported by the site teams. In accordance with the Business Management System, the quality of service and profitability is essential.

As an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have excellent communication skills along with a pro-active approach to achieving pre-determined deadlines for monthly reporting on all the commercial aspects associated with the contract. Having weekly review meetings to discuss value and costs, your attention to detail and reporting will be key in this role.

THE REQUIREMENTS

You will have a strong Quantity Surveying background, ideally Degree level qualified in Quantity Surveying but a Degree in Civil Engineering and or Commercial is acceptable. A working knowledge of method of measurement for highways work is required together with experience of the NEC form of contract. Experience of Design and Build contracts along with your ability to work on a National Level as part of a multi-disciplined team will contribute significantly to the success of the project.

THE SALARY + BENEFITS

£50k - £55k + car + benefits
