A unique opportuity to join one of the areas leading world class manufacturing companies in this newly created role of Estimator (Assistant) This role will focus on the production of estimated bids and proposals for new business and will require a candidate who has worked within a simialar role. * please note applications from construction will not be processed as this is not the same sector skill.

Reporting to the Estimator and working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Sales and Marketing and Finance departments.

Primary functions:

To work collaboratively with the other divisions to review technical specification and drawings - and consider

* Methods of manufacture.

* Tooling requirements.

* Technical specification requirements

* Obtaining competitive and accurate quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors

* Produce detailed estimates using Microsoft Excel in a timely manner.

* Assist in putting together professional tender submission to meet deadlines.

* Collecting, reviewing and publishing the company’s historical manufacturing and cost data.

Person Specification

You will need to be flexible, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate clear and effective verbal and written skills, able to communicate professionally at all levels, both within the business and externally. You will need a good ability to understand engineering concepts and drawings easily, have already worked in a bids and tenders environment and be fully IT literate, with previous experience in using Excel and Word to an advanced level

You must have your own transport as you may be required from time to time to visit suppliers and customers on site - there is plenty of parking.

You should have worked within a similar role within manufacturing for a minumum of 12 months and be familiar with the bids and tender processes.

Candidates must be entitled to work in the UK
