•The ownership of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and support of PLC ‘s (Siemens TIA Portal, Simatic Manager) with reference to IEC 61131-3, Writing scripts for HMI’s (win CC,TIA Portal) as well as Emulation (Demo 3D, Experior). Knowledge of other PLC's would be advantageous (Modicon Siemens S5).
•Understand and support equipment of a design (Vertical sortation Units, Hold baggage Screening Machines Interface, Fire/Security Shutters), review the status of the design and provide input in reference to the design specifications (Basis of design). All work to be carried out must ensure good design practice.
•Interface with the third party supplier’s equipment - to assist in the development of the interface when required.
•Specification of electrical, control and network components for baggage handling equipment, such as Profinet, Profi-Bus, ASi-Bus, Ethernet, E-Stop systems(safety PLC, safety monitor), LV Distribution, Panels, Control Cabinets, Drives .
•Evaluate and understand project requirements and prepare design specifications
•Prepare design calculations, specifications and documentation
•Prepare electrical load calculations.
•Prepare component lists and cable schedules
•Prepare and review of Electrical Schematics(using Eplan)
•Incorporation of design related safety aspects in accordance with UK CDM regulations
•Prepare installation work packages and provide input and advice to the installation team during the implementation of the project on-site
•Preparation of as-built documentation and handover documentation.

•Prepare factory acceptance test documentation and lead the test execution.

•Ideally an Engineering Degree. HNC/HND along with relevant experience also acceptable
•Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role
•Ideally worked on integrated Automation Systems in the Manufacturing or Distribution Industries
•Preferably worked on Airport Baggage Handling Systems design
•The Electrical and Control Engineer will report to their perspective line Manager.
•Good user knowledge of IBM DOORS
•Machinery Directive & CE Marking
•Effective communicator with the ability to work within a team environment.
•Conversant with integrated Automation Systems (FMCG, etc.)
•Sortation systems
•Autocad
•CSCS
•First Aid
