A well established bespoke manufacturing company based in Sheffield are currently recruiting for a Draughtsman offering a salary between £24,000-£28,000. My client has decades of experience in design, manufacture and supply of bespoke machinery for various industries all around the world.This would be a good opportunity for a newly qualified Draughtsman who is looking to join a company who can progress and develop them. Ideally if you have fabrication experience this would be an advantage.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties
Produce 2D CAD drawings to the required standard for production and ensure all measurements are present and correct
Follow work instructions for processes involved in the production
Read customer drawings accurately and produce designs to accurately reflect the customer requirements
Use a CMM machine and have the ability to replicate customers samples by means of producing clear technical drawings.
Maintain the drawings register
Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements
Meets quality cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions
Approves incoming materials by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, and materials rejection
Approves in-process production by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, and communication of required adjustments to production staff
Approves finished products by auditing adherence to specifications, conduct of visual and measurement tests, return of products for re-work, and confirmation of re-work
Documents inspection results by completing reports; auditing re-work and waste reports; inputting data into quality database
Using dedicated software to schedule production
Keeps measurement equipment operating by enforcing adherence to operating instructions; calling for repairs
Maintains safe and clean work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Assistance with maintaining the company operational procedures manual and monitoring adherence to the procedures by all employees
Qualifications and Skills
Essential skills and experience
AutoCAD drafting skills and qualifications with at least 2 years’ experience in a CAD role
Able to conduct QC inspections
Production planning
Able to problem solve effectively and propose corrective actions
Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages
Excellent numeric and literacy skills
Ability to build successful working relationships with colleagues and suppliers
Good organisational and time management skills
Pro-active and self-motivated
Would be an advantage to have
Knowledge of manufacturing and/or fabrication methods and techniques
Knowledge of 5s methodology
Experience of production planning software
Experience with quality management systems/processes
