About the role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planning Engineer to be based in their Birmingham office.
The majority of the technical work is transport planning and traffic engineering at the planning stage of private sector development projects. You will have good writing skills, being able to present technical assessments in Transport Assessment reports, Transport Statements and Travel Plans for projects of all types and sizes.

About the team
Within the Transport & Infrastructure Group, the Planning Team offers a wide range of services to complement the activities of the Group and the company as a whole, as well as providing bespoke services to Clients.

They take pride in successfully working with Clients on a range of projects, big and small. This ranges from new settlements with thousands of dwellings for large developers to a handful for small landowners, rail freight terminals, office developments, industrial estates, sports grounds and other leisure uses, medical centres, churches and country parks.

Essential criteria
About you

The role of Transport Planning Engineer would be to undertake duties necessary for project execution with the support of senior team members within the team.
Specifically, you will play a role in assisting with the technical delivery of the T&I Planning Service. Skills in CAD, road safety engineering, junction design and assessment will be a bonus. Typical software packages we use include PICADY, ARCADY, LinSig, and TRICS.

You should be able to demonstrate the following core competencies.

Demonstrate willingness and take a proactive approach to ongoing CPD, such as attendance at courses and professional meetings.
To share both knowledge and experience with other team members.
To provide support and assistance to the line manager as appropriate.
