We require a Fleet Maintenance Technician in Carrington who will provide effective support within our fleet maintenance workshop.

You will contribute to all day to day workshop activities, which comprise of in house automotive and specialist cryogenic tanker/trailer dispense equipment maintenance. In this role you will be part of a small team of automotive and cryogenically trained technicians. You will ensure all elements of day to day workshop activities are performed to provide a safe, efficient and cost-effective service to the wider Air Products distribution function.

As the Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will:

* Work within a small internal workshop team, to ensure that all planned and unplanned maintenance activities are executed to the required standard and in line with agreed company maintenance schedules
* Liaise effectively with other Air Products garage locations and third-party vendors to ensure maintenance and repair of Air Products equipment is completed as required
* Be able to prioritise day to day workload within the team ensuring all maintenance tasks are enacted as required
* Work effectively to ensure vehicle defects are dealt with efficiently to ensure disruption to fleet operations is minimised, whilst ensuring all equipment is fit for operation prior to release to fleet
* Be part of the on-call team, providing 24/7 breakdown cover for automotive and cryogenic defects including emergency response in relation to product issues
* Ensure all maintenance and repair documentation is completed in line with company and legislative requirements
* Provide technical support to other AP fleet maintenance locations across the UK&I including off site support in relation to vehicle breakdowns if required

As the Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will have:

* Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining heavy goods vehicles
* Good understanding of current ADR, DVSA & FTA regulations & requirements
* Evidence of previous performance in which strong technical and practical engineering skills
* Good understanding of commercial aspects of vehicle maintenance activities
* A sound practical experience of working on vehicles, equipment and dispense systems approved for the carriage of dangerous goods or similar would be advantageous
* Holder of a current HGV Cat C+E licence would be preferred
* A dedicated and driven approach & be committed to getting it right with a never-ending desire to learn, improve & contribute
