My client is well established as a major player in the manufacturing market sector where they design a range of world-class engineered systems. This multi-site business is experiencing phenomenal growth and as a result, this business will require further support from the Financial Department to ensure profitability is maintained.

Established for over 60 years, this business generates circa £75 million annual sales and boast a healthy profit for the past ten years. As a result, they are now looking recruit a result driven and proactive Financial Controller to join the business, and to lead a team of 11 ranging from Accountants, Payroll Officers and Credit Controllers.

Reporting directly to the CFO you will have full autonomy to manage the department in line with the overall finance strategy. You will have plenty of support and resources available to ensure the department is effective in finance/credit control management.

The role of Financial Controller:

Managing the entire Finance Department in an efficient manner.

*
Responsible for managing a team of Credit Controllers, Accountants, Payroll Officers and Finance.

*
Oversee and to manage all foreign transactions/exchange rates.

*
Manage & oversee all activities related to credit control, bank guarantees, payroll and end of year reporting.

*
Manage and monitor all financial KPI’s related to credit control, cash debt, debtor days and financial reporting.

*
Manage all working capital management, invoice in and sales orders.

*
Full use of SAP systems for all financial activities.

*
Oversee and manage all insurance claims, litigation and to oversee supplier agreements from a cash/invoice aspect.

*
To prepare, develop and analyse key financial reports to ensure that management makes well-informed decisions ensuring business stability, growth and profitability.

To safeguard the interest of the organisation by mitigating various risks including financial and business risks.

Finalise annual budget for a UK based company with a multi-divisional, multicurrency and multi-locational setup; having an annual group turnover of circa £75 million.

Reviewing divisional profitability of all business divisions of the UK based company monthly. To attend business unit meetings.

*
Consolidating subsidiaries in the UK based company on a quarterly/annual basis as per FRS 102 requirements.

*
Sound knowledge of banking regulations, banking transactions including bank guarantees, letters of credit is a prerequisite.

The ideal Financial Controller will have the following:

ACA/ACCA or CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant) qualified.

*
An experienced Financial Controller, Chief Accountant or Finance Manager type background, ideally within a manufacturing/engineering/technical environment.

*
Willing to travel as your time will be split between two sites within the South of England.

*
Knowledge of FRS/FRS102 and strong management & leadership skills.

*
Sound knowledge of cash flow including project cash flow, forex hedging and forex revaluation under various currencies is a must. Knowledge of cash flow modelling is essential.

*
Full driving licence necessary.

*
Knowledge of other ERP systems such as Oracle advantageous and/or SAP.
