Shift Maintenance Engineer

Area Location: Cheshire, North West

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join my client’s busy and expanding team. This role will a be a staff role, in Manchester the North West region, my client is undergoing a building extension to incorporate a new bakery line. You will be based at one site and have very minimal travel requirements. You must ensure that engineering and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner, that all appropriate corrective actions are implemented and to ensure that all standards of housekeeping are maintained in line with good engineering practice, by following the company Quality System and Health & Safety procedures.

In this role you will work in a team of 10 (4 based at one factory, 6 based at another factory), although on a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off. You must have experience working within a FMCG Ideally with Bakery background although it’s not essential. You must also be a time-served apprentice trained in engineering, preferably with an electrical bias.

We need someone who has a high level of credibility within these specifics, who is enthusiastic, driven and self-starter. This role requires you to be motivated and treat the business as though you are your own boss, where you will not be micro-managed and will be left to complete your work.

Skills and Experience:

** Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of Engineering and Maintenance within a Production environment.
** Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance (or equivalent).
** Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes.
** Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under
** Ability to work within a team environment but also have the ability to work using your own initiative.
** Ability to demonstrate a methodical approach to fault finding.
** Driven, enjoys a challenge and strives for continuous improvement and development.
