Our client, a top 20 accountancy practice, has an immediate need for a motivated and confident Payroll Clerk on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The successful applicant will have proven payroll experience, preferably within an accountancy payroll bureau, with a stable career history. Candidates should be outgoing and resilient, with excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

You would have your own portfolio of clients processing multiple payroll's and the role will involve:

•Processing all payrolls from start to finish
•Starters, Leavers and Permanent data changes
•Processing variable data from clients
•Manageing multiple deadlines for variable data and managing clients throughout their pay cycle
•Report processing and sending to clients
•Liaise with client and dealing with salary queries
•Completing monthly pension returns
•Dealing with queries from the client and HM Revenue & Customs
•Processing and calculating statutory payments such as SMP, SSP etc.
•Manually calculating pro-rata payments such as holiday pay, hourly/daily rates of pay etc.
•Keeping abreast of new legislation, supporting the team implement new procedures
•Ad hoc tasks as required

CIPP qualification (or studying towards the qualification) is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and be confident in their ability to pick up new systems, ideally Star payroll knowledge.
