ROLE: GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS X 3

LOCATION: LEEDS OR CHESTER OFFICES

LEVEL: LOOKING FOR NEARLY CHARTERED A OR A FEW YEARS POST CHARTERED EXP

CLIENT GLOBAL DESIGN CONSULTING CO.

My client is a world leading independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. Through their work, they make a positive difference in the world.

They are undergoing signficant expansion of their offices in the North due to successfully winning a number of large long term Tenders.

Working with their offices across the UK and GLobally, you will be primarily involved in providing geotechnical support on a variety of multidisciplinary engineering projects across the UK and Internationally. The role is set in a multi project, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment. There will be ample opportunity to develop existing knowledge and potentially a technical specialism within the group framework.

Looking for candidates with broad Geotechnical experience, however, good expsure to Rail, Tunnelling, Buildings and underground built environment would be a strong advantage.

The role will involve providing input into geoenvironmental and geotechnical assessments and design from desk study through to construction. Typical responsibilities will include:

* Design and specification of ground investigations
* Experience on Rail would be a big advantage, but not essential
* Production of drawings, specifications and reports
* Accountable for quality of own work to time and budget and those of team members as applicable
* Daily contact with other members of the group and other staff
* Regular contact with site investigation contractors and external agencies
* Developing contacts with Clients (for more experience levels)
* Travel including some opportunity for overseas work

The candidate must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, an ability to work with minimum supervision and be keen to provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the team.

* Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
* Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
* Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
* Able to work in a multi project, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment
* A degree in Civil or Geotechnical engineering
