Brewster Pratap are recruiting a Finance Assistant for a large, market leading organisation based in Rotherham. This is a new role due to work load / business demands and is a great opportunity to join a company that has grown rapidly in the last couple of years.


Working in a small finance team and reporting to the Divisonal Finance Manager, duties will include:

Form a close working relationship with the Divisional Finance Team and relevant operational teams within the divisional business units.
Taking responsibility for sales invoicing, credit management and cash allocation for the 4 business ledgers within the division working closely with finance and non-finance staff within the units to ensure efficient and on time collection.
Taking responsibility for purchase ledger invoice posting and matching processes, purchase ledger management, preparation of payment runs including liaison with business units to ensure supplier relationships are maintained.
Ensuring that month end reconciliations for all business units purchase and sales ledgers are performed to ensure correct controls are maintained.
Supplier statement reconciliations when necessary and ensuring that clean ledgers are maintained.
Working closely with the Divisional Finance Manager on cash flow forecasting.
Ensuring that all month end sales and purchase ledger reporting requirements are met to tight deadlines.
Performance of ad hoc analysis from sales and purchase ledgers.
Understanding systems and data integration, identifying areas for improvements and continuously and proactively thinking about efficiency of business processes.
Establishing a high level of credibility and build strong working relationships with internal and external parties where required.
Other ad hoc duties as required.


Must be able to demonstrate ability to build internal and external relationships
Experience of working within a finance department is essential
Experience of adhering to tight deadlines is essential
You must have the desire to gain professional accounting qualifications
Good eye for detail, with a strong work ethic and a can do attitude is required
Professional approach and attitude is required
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise your workload is essential
