A new and exciting opportunity for a retail sales assistant to join a vibrant, well established charitable organisation in Sheffield. This is a new position, where you will be supporting the shop management team with the day to day operations, whilst contributing towards maximising shop sales and profits, including gift aid targets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide excellent customer service
• Sorting and processing donation goods
• Identify more unique items and pass to the e-commerce team
• Support the overall core non-furniture business as and when required
• To ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times
• Support your line manager in facilitating the required Gift Aid conversion rates on all donations
• Ensure shop premises are clean and tidy at all times and that goods are displayed in an attractive, presentable and safe manner
• Ensure that all statutory responsibilities are met, including Fire and Health & Safety Regulations
• Where necessary support with external and internal floor walks to maintain safety, and report any faults to Line Manager
• To implement the correct rotation of stock for the shop so no items remain on the shop floor for longer than the agreed time limit, whilst maintaining the correct level of stock density
• Help coordinate the ethical disposal of waste materials
• To ensure that stock/ sorting areas are efficiently and safely organised
• To ensure that the shop is not selling prohibited items
• Maintain stock of new goods for sale with advice from your Line Manager
• Ensure that all van collections and deliveries are carried out within the 48 hour time scale
• The role will require manual work, which includes moving stock

The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated and a team player with a can do attitude. Previous experience in a retail environment and working in an effective team with people from a variety of backgrounds is essential. A good knowledge of Health and Safety and an ability to identify potential risks is desirable to maintain safe ways of working.
Flexibility is essential for this role as there will be weekend and possibly evening work required on occasions.

12 month contract- 37.5 hours per week, flexible working 5 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday. Salary £15307 per annum.
