Our client a fantastic Further Education College, based in North London, is looking for a passionate Unqualified SEN Teacher, with a strong commitment to working with in further education for learners with complex autism.

Due to the specialised nature of this role, successful candidates MUST have worked in a similar role with Special Need Pupils, have a Strong understanding of ASD.

As a SEN teacher, you will have the following responsabilities:

- teach either individuals or small groups of students within or outside the class
- prepare lessons and resources
- develope and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students
- use special equipment and facilities, such as audiovisual materials and computers to stimulate interest in learning
- use specialist skills, such as teaching Makaton sign language to students whom cannot communicate in other ways.
- liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
- work closely with parents and guardians
- assist in severely disabled pupils' personal care/medical needs
- carry out administrative tasks, including updating and maintaining records of pupils' progress
- attend in-service training
- manage behaviour.

Required skills:
- a calm, empathic and responsible person
- at least 1 year of experience in working as an Unqualified SEN Teacher
- any qualifications related to teaching or assisting an SEN teacher would help (those will also be a part of determining your salary)
- extensive knowledge, understanding and experience regarding Autism
- a good team player
