Department ProfileMorgan Stanley's Investment Banking Division builds and maintains closerelationships with corporations and governments around the world inorder to provide both traditional and innovative solutions that meettheir individual strategic and financial needs. Associates work onassignments which include various types of different transactions(M&A, capital markets) and business development projects whileinteracting directly with senior-level financial and strategicdecision-makers at some of the world's largest corporations, as well aswith smaller, emerging growth clients. An ideal candidate would haveprior financial industry or investment banking experience.Team ProfileThe Transportation Group (TG) covers airline and airline services,logistics and postal services, maritime, rail and other transportationservices as well as transport infrastructure clients (airports, roads,ports, concession groups etc) on a pan-European basis. Within theEuropean Investment Banking Division, the Transportation team works withrelevant regional and international clients on a wide range of complextransactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, jointventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations,recapitalisations, demergers, leveraged buyouts and defences againstunsolicited takeover attempts, strategy advisory assignments andexecutions of public and private capital markets transactions. ResponsibilitiesA TG Associate will typically work on a variety of transactions and takeon significant responsibility for delivering specific elements.Associates will have the opportunity to become involved with a widerange of transportation and transportation infrastructure sectororganisations ranging from small entrepreneurial players to large scaleconglomerates. Managing and assisting in the execution of corporate financetransactions (including IPOs, M&A, strategic advisory) Performing financial analysis, strategic business analysis anddetailed industry research Contributing to team discussions and client meetings Providing rapid and accurate market judgments to colleagues and clients Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear andcompelling manner Acting as a mentor and role model to Analysts; promoting team cultureQualifications:Skills required You have a strong academic background including studying for, or haveachieved, an MBA or equivalent Relevant Investment Banking (corporate finance/M&A) experience orequivalent required Relevant experience within Transportation is helpful but not required Fluent in English; ability to communicate effectively in additionallanguages is helpful Strong analytical and modelling skills - these are critical to successas an Associate Knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts; ability toanalyze and value businesses A positive, highly motivated individual who exhibits strong leadershipand management qualities Strong understanding of professional ethics and regulatory environment Demonstrate best in class professional integrity Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to excellence Committed to delivery of highest quality work product; strongattention to detail Proactive; self-motivated and goal oriented Strong organizational skills Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks undertight deadlines Strong team player able to work effectively in a team environmentMorgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
