Digital Enterprise Architect THE ROLE We are seeking a Digital Enterprise Architect to join Freshfields atour new Global Centre (Europe) in Manchester. The Digital Enterprise Architect shall be responsible for the firmsdigital experience across multiple channels and technologies presentedacross several business functions and geographies. They shall have accountability for the technology strategy, selectionand design used in the client experience throughout the firm, utilisingindustry best practices matched with leading edge insight and thought leadership. Providing expert advice to architecture, transformation, developmentand operational teams to maximise platform stability, resilience,flexibility and performance. ABOUT IT The IT Department is responsible for providing technology and supportto enable fee earners and business services employees to operateefficiently both internally and with their clients. The IT department iscomprised of two functions, Customer Services and Technology Services.These two functions work closely together with the shared goal ofdelivering strategic business value through the application oftechnology. IT operates as a global team with regional presence in mostof our offices. Our centralised IT infrastructure is maintained andmanaged by Technology Services and Customer Services provides allbusiness facing support and services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES Develops, defines and documents the digital strategy and associatedtransformation approach; Delivers business outcomes through the development of businessfocused solutions and processes; Key member of the Architecture Board; providing guidance, support andgovernance to ensure good technology decisions are made early andthroughout technology lifecycles, reducing complexity and waste; Provides technical expertise and oversight to enable the correctapplication of operational procedures; Contributes to the planning and design of transformation,development, maintenance and operational work; Identifies operational problems and improvements and contributes totheir resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance withagreed standards and procedures; Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems insystems and services assisting with the implementation of agreedremedies and preventative measures; Maintains an in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms,and provides expert advice regarding their application; Develops, documents and implements strategies, policies and designs; Contributes to the availability management process. Analyses serviceand component availability, reliability, maintainability andserviceability. Ensures that services and components meet and continueto meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels.Implements arrangements for disaster recovery and documents recoveryprocedures. Conducts testing of recovery procedures; Specifies user/system interfaces, and translates logical designs intophysical designs taking account of target environment, performancerequirements and existing systems. Produces detailed designs anddocuments all work using required standards, methods; Works effectively with key stakeholders across all business areasensuring technological and architectural alignment, calling out gaps andrisks proposing any mitigations. KEY REQUIREMENTS Essential Comprehend and deliver the client journeys end to end throughout theenterprise stack, including integration technologies, middleware,service oriented architecture and APIs; Experience of delivering platform services and creating a platformstrategy/approach to the delivery of services would be advantageous; Customer interaction & CRM technologies supporting the shift to adigital organisation; Cloud in all forms (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) with the ability to clearlyarticulate the end to end Cloud story and value proposition to the endcustomer, as well as experience in migrating to the Cloud; Experience of delivering virtualisation, microservice and mobile concepts; Information security knowledge and awareness of industry bestpractice; Experience in deploying modern technology development and deliverymodels, including Agile, continuous integration, continuous delivery,DevOps and bimodal; Expert understanding of design principles, production and managementof key artefacts and development of business level communications(budget management, business case generation and vendor management.). Desirable Knowledge and understanding of data management principles, governanceand methodologies; Experience of administering the infrastructure of websites and web applications; Understanding of security concepts within public services andinformation governance; Modern software development skills and experience of agile & leanworking practices. Desirable Qualifications TOGAF, Zachman or equivalent architectural framework experience; CISSP.
