The Role This is a key role within our DevOps team and will involve working aspart of a collaborative agile team in a shared services DevOpsorganization to support and deliver innovative technology solutions thatdirectly align with the delivery of business value and enhanced customerexperience. The primary objective is to provide support to Amazon Web Serviceshosted environment, ensure continuous 24/365 availability, working with3rd Party resources to ensure best value for money, and effectiveresource management across the team. Responsibilities include Configuring, deploying and supporting Cloud based solutions Developing and improving monitoring and infrastructure automation Participate in the creation and maintenance of the systems thatbuild, configure, deploy, and test our applications Technical design, development, release and deployment of AWSinfrastructure and VTW applications, using CICD Participate in the creation and maintenance of the systems thatbuild, configure, deploy, and test our applications Work with the Support team to troubleshoot, diagnose and rectifysystem service issues Providing 2nd/3rd level support for Cloud and DC hosted solutions Requirements This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced operationsenvironment and to develop your career in Cloud technologies,particularly Amazon Web Services. If you have the following essential skills we would like to hear from you: Solid experience of working in complex Technology environments In-depth knowledge and experience of deploying, configuring andsupporting Linux & Windows systems Demonstrable knowledge and expertise of 24 x 7 operational support ofPublic Cloud platforms e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure Experience of deploying AWS Cloud infrastructure using (HashiCorp)Packer, Terraform, Jenkins Version Control Systems GIT, GitHub Configuration Management of Linux and Windows systems using Puppet& Docker Tomcat & Apache Proven knowledge and skills in Open Source technologies Understanding and experience of configuring and troubleshootinginterfaces to the following databases: Oracle, SQL, MySQL and/or Mongo DB, DynamoDb ELK ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana Understanding and experience of configuring and troubleshootinginterfaces to the following network technologies: Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routing, DMZs Understanding and experience of working with, configuring andtroubleshooting of the following Enterprise IT infrastructure and concepts: PCI compliance, Enterprise Security, ITService Management (ITIL, Service Desks, 24/7 Support, service monitoring, reporting and alerting), Virtual Computing(VMWare), Docker Agile development methodology SCRUM or Kanban Desirable skills AWS certifications Experience of cloud migration activities either Public or Private Hands on experience of implementing infrastructure and service basedmonitoring solutions A good understanding of the security controls required to hostapplications and services in the cloud A good understanding of release management techniques within a cloudhosted environment Consider performance, scalability, and reliability in all decision making Monitor and manage system performance, including auto scaling basedon various parameters e.g. Queue Depth, CPU etc Technical design, development, release and deployment of AWSinfrastructure and Elsevier applications, using CICD Source code version control systems, e.g. GitHub Project Management (PRINCE2 and Agile) Were a truly global company.
