IT Systems Administration Manager based in the City of London Paying an attractive salary + fantastic benefits including bonus,private medical, 4 x salary life assurance, season ticket loan, pensionscheme, plus more As the IT Systems Administration Manager for this multiple awardwinning financial services software provider, you will be responsiblefor managing a team of System Administrators, whose responsibility is toprovide configuration, management and support of the local and wide areanetwork, server, storage and telecommunications infrastructure to thebusiness. The environment is both Linux and Windows and it is essentialto have experience being hands-on in both. Primary Responsibilities: Assisting the Head of IT in maintaining the operations of thecompany's server systems, networking infrastructure, and communications. Leading, coaching and mentoring the system administration/network team. Holding individual monthly 1:1s & annual appraisals and weeklyteam meetings. Designing, installing, upgrading, operation, control and maintenanceof Windows and Linux server systems, network, voice and desktop infrastructures. Other Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive): Ensuring the availability of all relevant systems, through theimplementation and management of maintenance, monitoring and changecontrol strategies. Creating specifications, ordering equipment, software and services. Maintaining up to date and effective documentation on all relevant ITsystems, services and procedures. Managing user accounts and access levels. Assisting in the development and control of the IT security policyand associated policies. Ensuring adherence to FCA, TCF and Data Protection/GDPR regulationsin relation to IT systems, adhering to Best Practice. Taking a Cyber security first approach. Providing training, coaching and mentoring to other administratorsand 1st/2nd line support staff. Managing projects to implement business systems solutions and orprocesses for information management. Overseeing the uninterrupted monitoring of the IT infrastructure. Assisting the developers and business analysts with the design andimplementation of new systems. Providing where necessary out of hours support of the IT systems. Assisting in the planning, development, documentation and testing ofDisaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan, processes and procedures. Knowledge Requirements: Essential Previous Management of a System Administration or equivalent team. Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux server environments. Detailed working knowledge of server builds configuration and remote management. Detailed working knowledge of local and wide area networking andassociated technologies, e.g. switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, etc. Good understanding of storage environments and configuration, DAS,NAS, SAN. Good understanding of Virtualisation technologies, with hands onexperience of RHEV, Hyper-V or VMWare. Comfortable with scripting languages, e.g. PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc. Knowledge of configuration management and orchestration tools such asPuppet, Ansible, Chef, SaltStack. Good understanding of general security principles. Good working knowledge of ITIL best practices. Desirable Knowledge of telephony systems and technologies (e.g. SIP trunks,Mitel PBX). Knowledge of group policy design and administration. Active Directory administration. TCP/IP networking. Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, AWS, VMware Cloud,OpenShift, OpenStack, Azure, Office 365, etc. Knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure RDS, Citrix, VMwareHorizons, Parallels, etc. Switch configuration and management. Remote access and VPN technologies. Intrusion detection & prevention solutions. Experience Requirements: Essential Minimum of 3 years proven track record of managing and leading teams. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Systems Administrator or equivalent. Desirable Previous experience in the support and development of networks andsecurity infrastructures.
