Part Time Community Development Manager - Lakeside
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Community Development Manager to work part time at this fantastic Retail organisation.
To foster and develop community relations and support between the Company and the respective local and regional communities, in line with the corporate responsibility strategy and the strategy of the firm.
Areas of Responsibility
To contribute to the corporate development of corporate responsibility functions.
To develop the corporate responsibility strategy, ensuring alignment to company strategy.
To plan, co-ordinate and implement the annual calendar of corporate, charity and community events and activities and ensure these are integrated effectively with all other activity at the company.
To work with educational establishments and other community groups on the delivery of initiatives including the Retail Academy and Retail Gold.
To operate the company's staff volunteering programme, setting up projects and monitoring and reporting on colleague involvement.
To support programmes such as local festivals and events
To ensure the company provide an annual entry into the Chairman's CR Prize competition.
To manage the distribution of the annual devolved CR budget and report expenditure uses and outcomes annually to Group CR Director using form supplied annually.
To produce, manage and present budgets for approval.
Prepare round up of key CR stories and achievements annually, by mid-January, for consideration by Group CR Team for inclusion in the Group annual CR Report and associated company Annual Report.
To work with the two Marketing Managers to maximise the PR coverage for all CR activities.
To collate CR stories for inclusion in the monthly marketing report and quarterly CR reports together with any other publications where these stories are relevant.
To manage the two charity budgets and ensure that donations supported meet the CR strategy criteria
To manage charity donations made and ensure that these are properly recorded and managed.
To operate educational programmes, including visits staff to schools, visits by schools, presentations, activities, competitions, curriculum materials etc.
To manage where relevant tours and presentations to third parties in liaison with Customer Services team as appropriate.
To arrange, where appropriate, corporate events for external organisations, within the conferencing facilities
To represent the Company within various business organisations, where these are relevant to the role of CR Manager
To produce regular management reports as requested
To perform the role of Duty Manager
Proven experience in a similar role (preferably with event management experience).
Experience of working in a similar environment
Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels
Able to work alone and as part of a team
Ability to maintain an objective and positive focus through periods of high and sustained work pressure
Good organisational and planning skills
Ability to work within strict deadlines
Flexibility to work on a diverse range of tasks with excellent attention to detail
It is desirable, but not essential, that the candidate has the following:
Degree in a relevant field (CR / socio-economics / Marketing / Communications)
5 years' experience in similar role
