Our client is looking for an experienced Support Team Leader to ensure a professional, comprehensive and efficient support service to the Council, and external client organisations where appropriate ensuring customer needs are met.

Main responsibilities for the role would be to focus on continual improvement and develop/maintain/improve/implement controls, checks and procedures to minimise errors and promote best practice.

Identify weaknesses in existing controls, monitoring performance against targets and look at ways to automate processes and use the Enterprise Service Desk for monitoring new requests.

Amend procedures and support routines accordingly and disseminate changes to the Support Team, ensuring that these changes are communicated to the wider audience where appropriate.

The role holder will supervise and take appropriate action regarding all aspects of the support team by allocating day to day work of the support team.

The role holder will be directly responsible for confidential and staff-sensitive information administration and will liaise with all areas of the Council on a day to day basis, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of personal data.

Working with the Enterprise Service Desk Lead, the role holder will coordinate the development of business continuity plans across the organisation working with Senior Managers to ensure each Sector has comprehensive up-to-date plans in place.

To lead on insurance, co-ordination of the new broker and contracts and to utilise the Support Team staff to work across the organisation in coordinating insurance claims and reporting back to services. Also responsible for overall co-ordination of the Policy Framework and policy Hub.

Working as part of the BS&E Enterprise Service Desk Management Team to drive change and improvement in line with AVDC's Vision and to seek cross-Sector commercial opportunities.
