Support Worker needed for a domestic violence charity in Bristol for an ongoing temporary position
Your new company
You will be joining a local supported housing provider who provides support to vulnerable service users focusing on service users who are suffering or escaping domestic violence. This organisation promotes independence and really focuses on improving service users lives.
Your new role
You will be working as a support worker on a full time basis. This is an ongoing temporary contract with an opportunity to go permanent. As a support worker you will be providing floating support across the Bristol area carrying out support plans to service users who have a background in complex needs specifically domestic violence but may also include homelessness, mental health and substance misuse. As a support worker you will be supporting single individuals as well as their families towards independence positively encouraging them to move on and live independently. As a support worker you will be carrying out support plans, tenancy advice and housing management support. As a support worker you will respond to emergency and crisis situations by providing support, advice, signposting or direct interventions as necessary. As a support worker you will champion service user empowerment, encouraging the services on offer are accessible and relevant.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker you must have working knowledge in supported housing and have working experience in complex needs. To be a successful support worker you must have strong knowledge in support plans, be able to communicate with different backgrounds and be passionate about helping people. You must have access to a car and have a clean driving license. Furthermore, as you are working with vulnerable people you must have a DBS or have the documents to produce a DBS on your behalf.
