The Caretaker / Handyperson is responsible for providing an effective maintenance and portering service, ensuring that the environment is kept clean and hazard free. You will be responsible for general maintenance duties and minor new work. After initial induction and on the job training to allow you to carry out these duties, you will work with little supervision although guidance and assistance is available from supervisor / line manager on a daily basis. You will have a responsibility for building security and may be required to open and lock up own base premises or other premises within the South Sector as required during periods of leave. Liaison is required with internal departments, external contractors, General Practitioners and all users of the premises. No formal qualifications are required as on the job training and induction will be provided however, it is essential that you are competent in carrying out minor works, have good written and verbal communication skills, are able to work as part of a team, follow protocols and prioritise your workload and be flexible. Experience of minor maintenance, caretaking or portering is desirable, as are keyboard skills and data input experience. The shift pattern for this post is Monday 4 pm - 7.00pm / Tuesday 4pm to 6.30 / Wednesday 4pm to 7pm / Thursday 4pm to 6.30pm / Friday 2.30pm to 6.30pm This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
