A Preschool Manager for a small preschool in Bristol, offering a generous annual salary
Your new company
You will be working for a small, friendly preschool in Bristol which cares for children age 2-5. The preschool currently provides excellent child care and education for up to 28 children at a time. The preschool has a large, light open room that has different zones for sleeping, story times and activities. The room is free flow onto a large garden that has a sand pit and other various age-appropriate activities and toys. The setting uses the garden at least once a day, encourages in the moment planning and lead forest school. The team of friendly staff are all qualified to a minimum of level 3, and all are highly dedicated to providing outstanding early years education, to prepare the children for primary education. There is free parking outside the nursery and is easily accessible on public transport.
Your new role
Your role as the preschool manager is to oversee the running of the room, ensuring all staff are supported and to ensure the welfare and safety of the children is promoted within the setting. You will be liaising with parents daily and working closely with the committee to ensure you are providing regular updates of children's progressions and improvements of the preschool. As a hands-on manager you will be expected to occasionally work in the room, conducting observations and ensuring a high quality of education is provided. You will be expected to draw up action plans for staff developments as well as ensuring the EYFS curriculum is met. The position is to work Monday to Friday, term time only.
What you'll need to succeed
The right person for this role with be qualified to at least level 3, and have excellent and up to date knowledge of the EYFS curriculum. You will be an expert of safeguarding and know the latest legislations and policies, as well as being confident with DBS processing and recruiting. You will have experience with SEN children, previous manager experience that is ideally in a preschool; able to train staff and work well in a close team. The right person will be adaptable, approachable and have a positive attitude that influences others.
