Our client is looking for a bookkeeper to join their accounts department. They are a dynamic group with an array of diverse experience across a number of different sectors including property, leisure and technology.

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Finance Director due to business growth, along with performing general accounting duties.

To be able to complete sets of financial records, keep track of accounts and verify the accuracy of the procedures used for recording financial transactions using Xero Accounts.


The role responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger,
  • customer ledger and general ledger
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Complete tax forms
  • Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
  • Process accounts receivable/payable

Skills and Competencies

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, accounting payable and receivable principles
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures
  • Hands on experience with spreadsheets and Xero essential
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft applications
  • Interpersonal skills, the ability to listen and respond to people’s requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adaptable
  • Used to multi-tasking in a busy environment
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team Player

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 . Full time

Location - Borehamwood . Elstree and Borehamwood - Thameslink
