Our client specialise in the design, development and manufacture of rugged, high-power-density, low-mass power supplies and systems for the Defence, Aerospace, Telecommunications and other demanding embedded application and due to expansion they have an opportunity for an Electronics Engineer based at their site at St Neots, in Cambridgeshire.

Duties for this Electronics Engineer position will include:

• Electronic hardware design for Switch Mode Power Supplies, DCDC Converters, AC-DC Converters, Linear Regulations, Analogue & Digital design for current and voltage monitoring circuits, customer alarm circuits and protection circuits.
• You will efficiently and effectively perform various engineering activities including but not limited to; schematic capture, simulation, component selection, analysis/calculations, BoM generation, configuration control and post development tasks.
• You will also design for manufacturability, testability and cost effectiveness.
• Support transition of products from engineering to production e.g. test specifications, work instructions and procedures etc.

Experience required for this Electronics Engineer will include:

• Electronics/Electrical Qualification
• A good foundation in analogue principals and analogue design
• An appreciation of EMC/EMI, how it is generated and how it is controlled
• Ability to produce technical reports with concise and methodological technical reasoning
• Ability to efficiently operate in a test lab environment e.g. operate various test equipment such as bench supplies, Oscilloscope, DVM, etc and soldering
• Ability to carry out root cause analysis down to component level

The hours are 39 per week, Monday to Thursday 830am to 5.30pm (30 minute lunch break) and Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm.
