Your main duty will be to collect blood samples by venepuncture for laboratory analysis from all relevant clinical areas. Previous experience in phlebotomy is desirable however full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. It is essential that you demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to set patients at ease.

There are 2 posts available both based at University Hospital Ayr. You may be required to work at other sites.

Post 1 Hours: 16 per week 7.30am - 11.30am. Four days over seven - will include either a Saturday or Sunday each week.

Post 2 Hours: 20 per week 7.30am - 11.30am. Five days over seven - will include either a Saturday or Sunday each week.

It is essential that some flexibility be shown regarding the exact times of work periods. A substantial amount of the initial training for these posts will take place during weekdays. You may be required to work across other sites within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
