About the role

To provide exemplary planned care for patients in OPD (including endoscopy)/ambulatory theatre while managing a team Ensuring the team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership at all times.

To further develop ambulatory theatre to support business needs and support the staff in training/competencies to deliver the service whilst ensure compliance/audit with the 'National Safety Standards for Invasive Procedures/ 5 steps to safer surgery'.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assess patient's health and well-being in OPD.
  • Assist in the delivery of care to meet patient's health and well-being.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Develop knowledge, ideas and practice, and that of others.
  • Develops a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security and infection control.
  • Develop ambulatory theatre and improve endoscopy to deliver exemplary services.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Support and enable equality, diversity and rights.
  • Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members.
  • Maintain and support the use of efficient use of physical and financial resources.
  • Undertake Human resource activities for all members of the team.
  • Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
