Digital Reality Corp t/a 'Pupil" are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Head of Finance in an exciting start-up which has ambitious plans to scale nationally and internationally. Initially the role will be part time (3 days a week) but this is expected to expand to full time with further opportunities as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

— Keeping our cloud based Xero accounting system up to date.

— Processing invoices and payments for suppliers.

— Processing Sales invoices and ensuring monies due are collected on time.

— Bank Reconcilations.

— Handling expense claims from staff.

— VAT returns

— Setting up new systems and procedures

— Other General administration tasks as required

What might an average week look like?

It’s important to note that you’ll be joining a demanding, ambitious technology company at an early stage, so we’ll expect you to take ownership and feel responsibility for a broad range of activities that will help us succeed.

You will be dealing with invoices and payments daily keeping on top of all transactions. You will be doing daily bank reconcilations. You will need to work closely with the head of finance ensuring systems and procedures and put in place to handle increasing volumes and more complex operations. You will always be looking for more efficient and time saving ways of getting things done. You will be required to support the head of finance and deal with queries and requests from directors and senior managers.

As a start-up it is important to remember we are small and lean so you will be required to help out on a range of activities as we develop and grow. This may include work such as ordering stationary, kitchen supplies, handling post and doing small errands. It will be helpful to your role to understand how other departments function such as customer service, operations, software dev, etc.
