A (non-bank) fast-growing international boutique FX specialist, leading the charge in the new wave of international trade finance for SMEs. By building a unique hybrid platform that combines trading and lending capability and expertise.

Their aim is to reduce friction at different stages of the supply chain, allowing international businesses to trade more effectively.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Trade Finance team at one of the UK’s fastest growing Financial Technology companies.  

Day-to-day activities will include:

This position will be to directly support the Head of Sales to achieve income growth in the UK Mid-Market lending sector. 
  • Preparation of accurate written new business credit applications for Trade Finance Facilities for presentation at board level.
  • Prepare credit proposals for subsequent trades.
  • Assist in streamlining the credit approval process.
  • Develop profit and loss, balance sheets and cash flow forecast tools.
  • Guidance on our exit strategy ensuring we are compliant with credit insurance governance.
  • Assist in the analysis of financial plans and budgets (including profit and loss viability and cash flow) as part of business case proposals.

Evaluate effectiveness of the proposed Credit Pack, which will include:
  • Corporate Executive Summaries.
  • Income Calculation.
  • Conduct market and company research to assist in origination and funding appraisal.
  • Reading financial briefings.
  • Helping to enhance the quality of credit applications.
  • Making recommendations about procedural and policy changes.

What are your key candidate requirements for the role?
  • A good honours degree (min 2.1) in any subject with several years’ relevant experience.
  • Ideally a graduate in a relevant subject, such as finance, accounting, economics, business and mathematics.
  • Someone part or fully ACCA or CIMA qualified would be ideal.
  • There is a requirement for this candidate to become the in-house expert in online research and screening tools - Experian & Bureau Van Dyke.
  • The role is client facing and thus the candidate needs to be personable with good communication skills but also needs to be very good at gathering information.
  • The candidate will be liaising with clients (CEOs/ Financial Directors/Financial Controllers) and so will need to gather all the relevant information in order for the Senior Business Development Manager to compile credit reports.
  • Attention to detail, tenacity and the ability to work in a team are key requirements.
  • Existing knowledge and understanding of Trade Finance, Receivables Finance and Asset Based Lending is desirable.
  • Adaptable, confident, reliable and motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent IT, analytical, numerical, problem solving and team working skills are also essential.
  • A team player with a willingness to pitch in.
  • Strong MS Word, Excel and Power Point skills. MS Project and MS Visio would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Personality wise the company want someone upbeat, an enthusiastic presence to others, even when under pressure, someone who responds assertively and constructively to adverse points of view.
