Description

Key Responsibilities Include:

Accounts Assistant

  • Sorting and distributing finance department post and answering incoming calls to the finance department
  • Managing company credit card expenses, ensuring payments are supported by appropriate and authorized reconciliations and the expenses are properly recorded and processed.
  • Managing employee expenses, ensuring claims are supported by appropriate and authorized reconciliations and the expenses are properly recorded and processed.
  • Processing all bank statement transactions in Syteline; primarily the allocation of receipts to customer invoices.
  • Regular reconciliation of the bank account and production of reconciliation report for manager sign-off.
  • Assisting other members of the finance department when required.
  • Reconciliation of relevant general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers or work papers.
  • Production of management information as requested.
  • To assist with any other ad hoc duties required as and when the business may require them.

Payroll Clerk

  • Collate, review and provide payroll information for weekly wage and monthly salaried staff.
  • Distribution of payslips and management of employee birthday voucher system.
  • First point of contact for staff queries regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Manage employee records including contracts, absence forms, annual leave, etc.
  • Manage childcare vouchers and other deductions/ benefits.
  • Provision of time and attendance information to department managers when required.
  • Calculation of sales agent commissions and generation of invoice.

Profile

  • Previous experience of bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of accounting packages and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Comfortable dealing with senior level contacts.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
  • A knowledge of the lighting industry would be an advantage.
  • A knowledge of product costing would also be advantageous.
