What you'll be doing

Supporting IT infrastructure over 300 sites with 3000+ employees across the UK and Europe, you'll support a broad range of hardware and software across a wide user base from offices, distribution centres and retail environments.

- Responsible for the operation of internal networks and servers (configuration, patching etc.) as well as running some internal services such as database for finance reports.

- Continued maintenance and upkeep of network diagrams and server documentation.
- Act as a senior member of the network review team to proactively discuss development and look for improvements to head office and distribution centre networks.
- Proactive maintenance and upkeep of server room documentation including remote sites.
- Maintaining CCTV systems.
- Liaising with suppliers for procurement including communications providers and IT equipment suppliers.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the Company VOIP phone systems.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for physical security systems.
- Extending and proactively managing existing monitoring system and developing improved alerting.
- Making changes to internal deployment systems configuration.

What you'll bring

With experience working in an IT Support or Systems Admin role, you are proactive with a strong drive for results and a continuous improvement mind-set. You'll also pride yourself on your strong investigative and problem-solving skills.

- Proven experience running an estate of Linux servers in a commercial environment

- A good working knowledge of popular Open Source LAMP technologies e.g. Apache, MySQL and PHP
- Experience of network switching and firewalls, ideally on either Cisco or Palo Alto equipment
- Experience of network diagnostic tools e.g. Wireshark
- Experience of open source monitoring tools, ideally Zabbix
- Any experience with configuration management tools (ideally Puppet) a benefit as is knowledge of Asterisk based phone systems
