Bid Development Specialist
My client is a not-for profit company, sponsored by the Welsh Government to help create economic value by identifying and exploiting the opportunities emerging from the growth of the digital economy fuelled by technology development in Wales.
All the work is in partnership with others, bringing together start-ups, small and large businesses, academia, innovation clusters and the public sector; so that they can collaborate, test ideas and develop successful proposals to funding providers. The role of expert proposal writer and project manager will help others to work better together with the aim of stimulating major innovation projects that grow the economy of Wales.
As an experienced bid writer with sound project management and business engagement skills you will contribute to a growing number of projects; working closely with key stakeholders at various levels to develop strong bid proposals. This role will form part of the overall services provided by the company's Project Delivery Team and will lead on our input to bid submissions and Expressions of Interest, specifically the provision of expert technical content, legal and procurement advice.
Success in the role will be measured by the increase in the number and quality of bids submitted and the number of new clients on-boarded, and the investment attracted.
A strong, existing affinity with the digital tech economy will allow the post holder to quickly and meaningfully engage with the community and build innovation capability in Wales.
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, and working closely with the Business Development Team, the role will be fully involved in the building, maintaining and supporting of new opportunities from an inward investment perspective.
Providing sound bid writing skills and knowledge of the legal and procurement matters related to the development of good quality bid submissions to both UK and EU funding providers.
Through the opportunity management plan, directly contribute to increasing the successful application and subsequent management of a broad range of innovation projects.
Ensuring excellence in quality and response on those bid submissions directly responsible for and providing support and guidance on all bids.
Taking the lead for a number of successful bid submissions, effectively managing the transition period from idea to bid to project delivery, often working with and through virtual team.
Fixed term contract : 1 year potential to become permanent.
